Membership
The New Orleans Polo Club is comprised of a diverse membership of male and female players united by their passion for one of the world's oldest, most exciting and least understood athletic games. Recognized by the United States Polo Association (USPA), currently the New Orleans group is the only active polo club in the state of Louisiana.
Practices, matches and tournaments are held throughout the year during the club's two playing seasons. Spring season opens in mid-March and runs through the end of June, while fall season opens in September and concludes in late November. Practices are held on Wednesdays; matches and tournaments are held Saturdays and Sundays.
In addition to practices and tournaments, Club members actively participate in a variety of charitable fund raisers. Charity events include the annual "Harvest Cup," sponsored by the Junior League of Greater Covington; the "New Heights Cup," sponsored by New Heights Therapeutic Riding Center; the "Conservation Cup," sponsored by the Land Trust for Louisiana; and the "Southern Hotel Cup" benefitting the Covington Public Art Fund.
